Bumps Crochet Blanket Square

Bumps crochet blanket square, if you are bored with making granny squares for blankets and would like something different, then how about my bumps square, a simple two row repeat of slip stitch and double crochet. It is very easy to crochet and can be made as one plain colour square and one two colour square to mix together.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Approx Finished Size:   5.5 x 5.5 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, you will need approximately
for 6 squares:-
75 grams of King Cole Comfort DK yarn in colour 1
Small amounts of King Cole Comfort DK yarn colour 2

An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3

4.50mm crochet hook

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

With colour 1, make 25ch, work 1tr into 4th ch from hook, (RS) 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. Fasten off.

2nd Row – Join in colour 2 with a ss, work * 1tr into next tr, ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. Fasten off.

3rd Row – Join in colour 1 with a ss, work 3ch, 1tr into each tr and ss to end. Turn. Fasten off.

Rpt 2nd & 3rd Rows until 15 rows have been worked in all. Turn. Do not fasten off at the end of 15th row.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, 3dc into corner, work 21dc evenly into row ends down first side of square, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, work 21dc evenly into row ends up second side of square, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
