Crochet Flower Power Square – Pretty coloured square, suitable for blankets, cushions, pillows or bags.

Whether it is made in four colours or crocheted in one, it looks just as nice when finished!

tr2tog.  Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 2tr into same space or stitch, yrh and draw through all loops.

tr3tog.  Leaving last loop of each tr on hook, work 3tr into same space or stitch, yrh and draw through all loops.

tr3tog groups. (tr3tog, 3ch, tr3tog) into same stitch or space

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

Approx Finished Size:   5 x 5 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used:-

Small amounts of Double Knitting Yarn in each of the colours 1, 2, 3 & 4

4.50mm crochet hook

TENSION – 5tr & 2.5 rows measures approx 1 inch

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made without turning until the end of 6th Row.

With colour 1 make a magic circle (RS) work 1ch, 12htr into circle, close circle pulling loose thread, ss to first htr on beginning of round. Fasten off. (12htr)

2nd Round – Join in colour 2 make 4ch, * 1tr into next htr, make 1ch, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of round. Fasten off. (11tr, 12, 1ch spaces + 3ch)

3rd Round – Join in colour 3 with a ss to first 1ch space, make 3ch, 2tr into same space, 3tr into each remaining 1ch space to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Fasten off. (35tr + 3ch)

4th Round – Join in colour 4 make 3ch, (tr2tog, 3ch, tr3tog) into base of 3ch, miss 2tr, * (tr3tog, 3ch, tr3tog) into next tr, miss 2tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Fasten off. (12, tr3tog groups)

5th Row – Join in colour 1 to any 3ch space with ss, work (3ch, 3tr, 2ch, 4tr) into same space, 4dc into each of next two 3ch spaces, * (4tr, 2ch, 4tr) into next 3ch space, 4dc into each of next two 3ch spaces, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row.

6th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each stitch around, working (2dc, 2ch, 2dc) into each of the corners, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

7th Row – With WS facing and working (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into each of the corners, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc around, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.

4th Round – Join in color 4 ch3, (dc2tog, ch3, dc3tog) in base of ch3, skip 2dc, * (dc3tog, ch3, dc3tog) in next dc, skip 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. Fasten off. (12, dc3tog groups)

5th Row – Join in color 1 to any ch3 space with sl st, (ch3, 3dc, ch2, 4dc) in same space, 4sc in each of next two ch3 spaces, * (4dc, ch2, 4dc) in next ch3 space, 4sc in each of next two ch3 spaces, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row.

6th Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each stitch around, working (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in each of the corners, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

7th Row – With WS facing and working (1sc, ch2, 1sc) in each of the corners,  ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc around, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off.
