Crochet Granny Hexagon

Crochet Granny Hexagon – This pattern is an addition to my granny stitch designs. Hexagon’s seem to be the in thing at the moment and are great for baby shawls, adult shawls, blankets, kitchen items etc.

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Approx finished size: 4 Inch Diameter

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn I have used:-
Small amounts of Paintbox Simply DK in the colours 1 & 2

4.00mm Clover Crochet Hook

Made in rounds without turning throughout until the end.

Using colour 1 make a magic circle (see abbrev/pictorial) make 3ch, (RS) 2tr into circle, 3ch, work (3tr, 3ch) five times into circle, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (6, 3tr groups)

Row Two – Join colour 2 to any 3ch space, 3ch, (1tr, 2ch, 2tr) into same space, make 1ch, * miss 3tr, work (2tr, 2ch, 2tr) into next 1ch space, make 1ch * rpt from * to * to end, miss 3tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Row Three – Join in colour 2 to any 2ch space, work (3ch, 2tr, 2ch, 3tr) into same 2ch space, * make 1ch, miss 2tr, work (3tr, 1ch) into next 1ch space, miss 2tr, work (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to last 1ch space, make 1ch, miss 2tr, work (3tr, 1ch) into ch space, miss 2tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in all loose ends of yarn and trim off.
