For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

100 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 1
55 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK  in colour 2
55 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 3

4.50mm crochet hook, 1 medium button

TENSION – 1.5 pattern rpts & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

Made in multiples of 6 + 1.

Tea Towel – With colour 1 make 73ch, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 5th ch from hook, (RS) * make 1ch, miss 2ch, 1vst (see abbrev) into next ch, make 1ch, miss 2ch, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch, make 1ch, miss 1ch, work 1tr into last ch. Turn. (10, 2ch spaces)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, make 1ch, ps group (see abbrev) into next 2ch space, * 1ch, 1dc into vst, 1ch, ps group into 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, make 1ch, 1dc into 3rd of 4ch. Turn. (10ps groups)

3rd Row – 4ch, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 1ch space on ps group, * 1ch, 1vst into next dc, 1ch, (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) into 1ch space on ps group, * rpt from * to * to last dc, make 1ch, work 1tr into dc. Turn.

Rpt Decrease Row 2 once. (10dc)

Rpt Decrease Row 1 once. (7dc)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 20 rows of 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.

Buttonhole Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into next 2dc, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of last 3dc. Turn.

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, work 1 row of 1dc into each dc to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, attach button to correspond with buttonhole.
