Simple Household Crochet Cloth UK

Abbreviations UK
RS.    Right Side
ch.     Chain
dc.     Double Crochet
htr.    Half Treble Crochet

rpt.    Repeat
ss.      Slip Stitch

Base of ch. Work into first stitch

3ch counts as first htr and 1ch.

Approx Finished Size:  11 x 11 Inches

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

55 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK

4.50mm Crochet Hook

UK INSTRUCTIONS:

Made in multiples of 2 + 1

Make 53ch, 1htr into 5th ch from hook, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1htr into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (25htr)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, work 1dc into each 1ch space and htr to end, 1dc into space between last htr and tch, 1dc into 3rd of 4ch. Turn. (51dc)

3rd Row – 3ch, miss 1dc 1htr into next dc, * make 1ch, miss 1dc, 1htr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Rpt 2nd & 3rd Rows until 37 rows have been worked in all from beginning or work measures 10 inches.

Border – 1ch, 1dc stitch at base of 1ch, work 1dc into each 1ch space and htr to end, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end down first side of cloth, 3dc into corner, work 1dc into each 1ch space and htr along starting ch edge to end, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each row end up second side of cloth, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.     

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn.
