Crochet Wattle Stitch – An easy one row repeat pattern, that is suitable for place settings, dressing table mats, dishcloths or baby items.

Abbreviations USA

sc.     Single Crochet
hdc. Half Double Crochet
dc.    Double Crochet
rpt.    Repeat

ch2 counts as first hdc.


Make a chain length loosely in multiples of 3.

1st Row – Work (1sc, ch1, 1dc) in 3rd ch from hook, * skip 2ch, (1sc, ch1, 1dc) in next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch, skip 2ch, 1hdc in last ch. Turn.

2nd Row – ch2, (1sc, ch1, 1dc) in each ch1 space to end, 1hdc in top of ch2. Turn.

Rpt 2nd Row until you reach your desired length.
