RS.      Right Side

ch.      Chain
sc.      Single Crochet
hdc.   Half Double Crochet
dc.      Double Crochet
trc.    Treble Crochet
rpt.    Repeat
sl st.  Slip Stitch
yo.      Yarn over

vst.   (1dc, ch1, 1dc) in same stitch or space.

Shell. (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in same stitch or space. 

Long sc.
Insert your hook in the sc on the 10th Row, pull up long loop, yo and pull through 2 loops.

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

ch2 counts as first hdc
ch3 counts as first dc
ch4 counts as first dc and ch1

Finished size approx:  13.5 Inch Diameter

Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-

20 grams of King Cole Comfort Aran in color 1
30 grams of King Cole Comfort Aran in color 2
20 grams of King Cole Comfort Aran in color 3

An equivalent yarn would be a worsted #4

5.00mm Clover crochet hook

GAUGE – 5dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Worked in rounds without turning until Round 13.

With color 1 make magic circle, (RS) ch3, work 14dc in circle, pull loose thread to close circle, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. (14dc + ch3)

2nd Round – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning or round. (29dc + ch3)

Fasten off. Join in color 2.

3rd Round – ch4, * 1dc in next dc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of round. (29dc, 30, ch1 spaces + ch3)

4th Round – sl st to first ch1 space, ch3, 1dc in same ch1 space, work 2dc in each ch1 space to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. (59dc + ch3)

Fasten off. Join in color 3.

5th Round – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc. (60sc)

Fasten off. Join in color 1.

6th Round – ch4, 1dc in base of ch4, * skip 1sc, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, skip last sc, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of round. (30vst)

7th Round – sl st to first ch1 space, ch4, 1dc in same space, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) in each ch1 space to end, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of round.

Fasten off. Join in color 2.

8th Round – Working in first ch1 space ch3, (1dc, ch1, 2dc) in same space, (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in each ch1 space to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. (30 shells)

9th Round – sl st to first ch1 space then work as Round 8.

Fasten off.

10th Round – Join color 3 to first ch1 space, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch4, 1sc in next ch1 space, * rpt from * to * to end, ch4, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. (30, ch4 spaces)

11th Round – ch1, work 6sc in each ch4 space to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of round. (180sc)

Fasten off. Join in color 1.

12th Round – ch3, 1dc in each sc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on the beginning of the round. (179dc + ch3)

Fasten off. Join in color 2.

13th Round – ch2, (1dc in next dc, 1trc in each of next 2dc, 1dc in next dc, 1hdc in next dc), * (1hdc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, 1trc in each of next 2dc, 1dc in next dc, 1hdc in next dc) * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch2 on beginning of round. Turn.

Fasten off. Join in color 3 to first hdc.

14th Round – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each of next 5st, * 1 long sc in the sc on 10th Round, (see abbrev) 1sc in each of next 6st, * rpt from * to * to end, 1 long sc in the next sc on 10th Round, sl st to first sc.

Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
