A folded petal flower, I am always looking for adornments for my projects, so I designed this flower for future use on things. It can be added to bags, hats, scarfs etc. many items that may just need that little something to finish it off.

Materials
I have used:-
Small amounts of Stylecraft Special DK in colors 1 & 2
An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3
4.00mm Clover crochet hook, medium size decorative button in color 2

Using color 1, make magic circle, (RS) ch3, 12dc in circle, pull loose thread of yarn to close, skip ch3 to turn with, sl st to first dc on the beginning of row. Turn.
Row 2 – ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 2sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (24sc)
Row 3 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * (1hdc, 1dc, 3trc, 1dc, 1hdc) in next sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last sc, (1hdc, 1dc, 3trc, 1dc, 1hdc) in sc, sl st to first sc on the beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (12 groups)
Your work will appear frilled at this stage, but will fold in place in the finishing section.
Row 4 – Join in color 2 with a sl st to any sc, * work 1sc in each of next 3st, (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in next st, 1sc in each of next 3st, sl st in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last group, work 1sc in each of next 3st, (2sc, ch2, 2sc) in next st, 1sc in each of next 3st, sl st to first sl st on beginning of row. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in trim any loose ends of yarn, fold base of petals over each other, attach decorative colored button to center.
