Base of ch.   Work into first stitch

Group.  5tr into same space or stitch

3ch counts as first tr

Make a chain length in an even number.

First Row – 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. Turn.

Second Row – 3ch, miss 2dc, 5tr into next dc, * miss 2dc, pc (see abbrev) into next dc, 1ch, miss 2dc, 5tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 2dc, 1tr into last dc. Turn.

Third Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, make 2ch, miss 2tr, * 1dc into top of pc, make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, make 2ch, miss 2tr, * rpt from * to * to 3tch, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.

Fourth Row – 3ch, miss 2ch, 5tr into next dc, * miss 2ch, pc into next dc, make 1ch, miss 2ch, 5tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch and dc, miss 2ch, 1tr into last dc. Turn.

Rpt Third and Fourth Rows to required length.
