Free Crochet Tutorial Bean Stitch

Abbreviations USA

st.         Stitch(es)
ch.        Chain
sc.        Single Crochet
rpt.       Repeat

BS.       Bean Stitch
Insert the hook in next st and pull up a loop, (2 loops on hook ) yo, insert in same st and pull up a loop (4 loops on hook),  yo insert in same st and pull up a loop (6 loops on hook), yo and pull though all 6 loops, ch1.

Base of ch.     Work in first stitch

Make a chain length loosely in an even number.

First Row – 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn.

Second Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1sc, BS (see abbrev) in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 2sc, skip 1sc, sc in last sc. Turn.

Third Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work BS in each BS to last sc, 1sc in sc. Turn.

Rpt Third Row to desired length. Change color every 2 rows.
