Work 5tr into next tr, drop the loop from your hook, working through top of the first of the 5tr, pick up dropped loop and pull through.

Base of ch. Work in first stitch

3ch counts as first tr.

Finished Size of Bag:  Approx 8 Inches x 7 Inches

Materials
40 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Colour 1

30 grams of Stylecraft Special DK in Colour 2

4.50mm & 5.00mm Clover crochet hook

TENSION – 4dc and 5 rows of dc’s measures approx 1 Inch

Bag – Using colour 1 and 5.00mm hook make 28ch, (RS) 3dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each of next 25ch, 6dc into last ch, working along opposite side of cast on ch, work 1dc into each of next 25ch, 3dc into last ch, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (62dc)

Row 2 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt Row 2 until 16 rows have been worked or work measures approx 3 Inches from beginning. Fasten off. Turn.

Rpt Row 2 in colour sequence as follows:-

Twice in colour 2.
Twice in colour 1.
Ten more times in colour 2.
Twice in colour 1.
Twice in colour 2.
Twice in colour 1.

Do not fasten off.

Bag Handles – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 8dc, make 13ch, miss 13dc, work 1dc into each of next 18dc, make 13ch, miss 13dc, 1dc into each of next 9dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to first 13ch space, work 13dc into space, 1dc into each dc to second 13ch space, 13dc into space, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (62dc)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row.

Fasten off.

Flower Motif
Worked in rounds without turning.

Using colour 1 and 4.50mm hook, make magic circle, work 3ch, 15tr into circle, pull loose yarn to close, join with ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (15tr + 3ch)

Fasten off.

Round 2 – Join in colour 2 with a ss to top of 3ch, make 4ch, * work 1pc into next tr, (see abbrev) 1ch, 1tr into next tr, 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last tr, 1pc into last tr, 1ch, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of row. (8pc)

Fasten off.

Round 3 – Working behind pc’s, join in colour 1 with a ss to top of 3ch, * make 3ch, ss into next tr, * rpt from * to * 6 more times, make 3ch, ss to first ss on beginning of round. (8, 3ch spaces)

Round 4 – Work 1ch, (1dc, 1tr, 2dtr, 1tr, 1dc) into each 3ch space to end, ss to first dc.

Fasten off.

Finishing – Close small gap on starting chain of bog (where you worked 6dc into), weave in all loose ends of yarn on bag and flower and trim off, attach the flower motif to front of bag.
