Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
65 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 1

Small amount of King Cole Cottonsoft DK in colour 2

4.50mm crochet hook

Made in Multiples of 2.

Using colour 1 make 44ch loosely, work ss into 2nd ch from hook, * 1htr into next ch, ss into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (43st)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1htr into base of 1ch, * ss into next htr, 1htr into next ss, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

3rd Row – 1ch, ss into base of 1ch, * htr into next ss, ss into next htr, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

4th Row – 1ch, 1htr into base of 1ch, * ss into next htr, 1htr into next ss, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

Rpt 3rd & 4th Rows until 8 rows have been worked in all. Fasten off. Turn.

Join in Colour 2.

9th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each stitch to end. Turn.

10th Row – Rpt 9th Row. Fasten off.

Join in colour 1.

11th & 12th Rows – Working into dc’s for 11th Row, rpt the 3rd & 4th Rows once. Fasten off.

Join in Colour 2.

13th & 14th Row – Rpt 9th Row. Fasten off.

Join in colour 1

15th to 54th Rows – Working into dc’s for 15th Row, rpt the 3rd & 4th Rows. Turn.

Border – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each stitch across, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each of next 2 row ends, * miss 1 row end, 1dc into each of next 2 row ends, * rpt from * to * down first side of cloth, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along starting chain edge, 3dc into corner, rpt from * to * to up second side of cloth, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. DNT.

Work 1 row of crab stitch (see abbrev) around all sides of cloth, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
