Abbreviations UK WS. Wrong Side RS. Right Side dc. Double Crochet rpt. Repeat ss. Slip Stitch yrh. Yarn Round Hook DNT. Do Not Turn
dec. Decrease Pull up a loop from each of next 2dc, yrh and draw through all loops.
Base of ch. Work into first stitch
To fit size approx:- Sole: Length 3 inches Heel to cuff: 2.5 inches
Materials For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used a:- Small amount of Stylecraft Special DK yarn in colour 1 Small amount of Stylecraft Special DK yarn in colour 2
An equivalent yarn would be a light worsted #3
3.50mm crochet hook
TENSION – 5dc and 6 rows of dc measures approx 1 inch
With colour 1 make 24ch loosely, ss to first ch to make a round, work 1ch, (RS) 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (24dc)
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work seven more rows of 1dc into each dc to end, ss to the first dc on the beginning of each row and turning. Fasten off.
Heel – Join in colour 2, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 11dc, turn leaving remaining 12dc un-worked.
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work five more rows of 1dc into each dc to end. Turn. (12dc)
With WS facing fold heel in half length ways, ss both sides of the row you just worked together to seal heel. Fasten off.
With RS side facing join colour 1 to first row end (next to ss edge you have just created), make 1ch, work 1dc into each of the six row ends along first side of the heel, 1dc into each of next 12dc along the foot, 1dc into each of the next six row ends on second side of heel, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (24dc)
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work eleven more rows of 1dc into each dc to end, ss to the first dc on the beginning of each row and turn. Turn.
Shape Toe – (Dec Row) 1ch, * dec 1dc (see abbrev) over next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (12dc)
Rpt last row once, fasten off leaving length of yarn. (6dc)
Cuff – With RS facing join colour 2 to starting chain edge, starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work four rows of 1dc, into each dc to end, ss to the first dc and turning at the end of each row. DNT at the end of the fourth row
Loop – Make 20ch, ss to first ch. Fasten off.
Finishing – Working on WS of work, thread length of yarn through last row to gather toe.
Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim. Turn through to RS.
