3.50mm Clover Crochet Hook, 3 small buttons

Button/Buttonhole Bands
Button Band – With WS facing, join colour 1 at neck edge (base of collar) on right hand side, 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, work 39 more dc evenly into row ends along front edge to end. Turn. (40dc)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, work 2 more rows in dc on these stitches. Fasten off.

Buttonhole Band – Written for a boy, change sides for a girl.

With WS facing, join colour 1 to lower edge on left hand side, 1ch, work 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, work 39 more dc evenly into row ends along front to neck edge. Turn. (40dc)

Button Holes Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, * 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 5dc, * rpt from * to * once, 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of the remaining dc. Turn. (3 buttonholes made)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, work 1dc into each 2ch space and dc to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Tie off and sew in any loose ends of yarn, sew on contrast colour buttons to correspond with buttonholes.

Pull on Hat – Made in rounds throughout.

With colour 1 make 62ch loosely, ss to first ch to make a ring, make 1ch, work 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (61dc)

Next Row – With RS of work facing make 3ch, work 1tr into each dc to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (60tr + 3ch) 

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. (61dc)

Bobble Row – Join in colour 2, make 1ch, 1dc into stitch at base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * MB into next dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, MB into next dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. Fasten off. (20 Bobbles made)

Crochet Tie – With colour 2 make 101ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch to end. (100dc) Fasten off.

Finishing – Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, thread crochet tie through alternate tr’s on the 4th row from the top and tie in a bow.
