30th Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of 1ch, miss 1dc, * work 3tr into next dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt * to * to end. Turn. (18 groups)

31st Row – 3ch, work 1tr into the BLO of the stitch at the base of the 1ch, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * miss 1tr, work 3tr into the BLO of the next dc, * rpt * to * to last group and dc, miss 1tr, work 1dc into next tr, miss 1tr, 2tr into BLO of dc. Turn.

Working into tr’s not dc’s on 30th Row rpt 30th and 31st Rows and then 30th Row. Turn. (you should have 5 pattern rows in all)

35th Row – Working through BLO on dc’s, make 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each tr and dc to end. Turn. (73dc)

Work two more rows in dc. Do not fasten off.

Button/Buttonhole Bands – Make 1ch, work 28dc evenly into row ends up first front edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch around neck, 3dc into corner, work 28dc evenly into row ends down second front edge. Turn.

Button Band – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to neck edge. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, work 1dc into each dc down front edge to end. Fasten off.

Buttonhole Band – Return to opposite front edge, with WS facing and working from neck downwards, join yarn to first dc, make 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, * make 2ch loosely, miss 2dc, 1dc into each of next 6dc, * rpt from * to * twice, make 2ch loosely, miss 2dc, work 1dc into each of the remaining dc. Turn. (4 buttonholes)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, work 1dc into each dc and 2dc into each 2ch space to end. Fasten off.

Sleeves x 2 – With 50mm hook and RS facing join yarn to first un-worked dc under arm, working into BLO make 1ch, work 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into each of next 26dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (27dc)

Working through both loops, make 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, 1dc into dc to end, ss to first dc on the beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt last row until thirteen dc rows have been worked in all from yoke. Turn.

Row 14 – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of 1ch, miss 1dc, work 3tr into next dc, * miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, miss 1dc, work 3tr into next dc, * rpt * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (7 groups)

Row 15 – 3ch, work 1tr into the BLO of the stitch at the base of the 1ch, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * miss 1tr, work 3tr into the BLO of the next dc, miss 1tr, work 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, miss 1tr, work 1tr into the stitch at the base of the 3ch, ss to top of 3ch. Turn.

Row 16 – Missing tr’s not dc’s rpt Row 14. Turn.

Working through BLO on dc’s, make 1ch, work 1dc into each tr and dc to end. Turn. (27dc)

Working through both loops, turning and ss at the end of each row work two more rows in dc. Fasten off.

Finishing – Close small gaps under the arms, weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach buttons to correspond with buttonholes.

Working through both loops, turning and sl st at the end of each row work two more rows in sc. Fasten off.
