For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
10 grams of King Cole Comfort DK in each of the colours 1 & 2

With colour 1 and 4.00mm hook make 5ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, (RS) 1ch, work 10dc into ring, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (10dc)
2nd Row – (Inc row) 1ch, 2dc into stitch at the base of 1ch, 2dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (20dc)
3rd Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at the base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
4th Row – (Inc row) 1ch, 2dc into stitch at the base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * 2dc into next dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (30dc)
5th Row – Rpt 3rd Row. Turn.
6th Row – (Inc row) 1ch, 2dc into stitch at the base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * 2dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (40dc)
7th Row – Rpt 3rd Row. Turn.
8th Row – Working into FLO of stitch, rpt 3rd Row. Turn.
9th to 12th Rows – Working through both loops of stitch from now on, rpt 3rd Row. Turn.
Change to 3.00mm hook.
13th Row – (RS) 3ch, 1tr into stitch at the base of 3ch, miss 1dc, * 2tr into next dc, miss 1dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. DNT. Fasten off.
Join in colour 2.
14th Row – ss into space between 3tch and first tr, make 3ch, work 1tr into same space, * miss 2tr, work 2tr into space between next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr, miss tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. DNT.
15th to 20th Rows – Rpt 14th Row. Turn at the end of 20th Row.
Change to 4.00mm hook.
21st Row – 1ch, 1dc into stitch at the base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
Starting each row with 1ch, 1dc into stitch at the base of 1ch, work 4 rows of 1dc into each dc, ss and turning at the end of each row. Fasten off.
