Materials For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:- 100 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft 100% cotton in colour 1 50 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft 100% cotton in colour 2
4.50mm crochet hook, medium button
TENSION – 1.5 Groups and 3 rows measures approx 1 inch square
Hand Towel – With colour 1 make 71ch loosely, work (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into 2nd ch from hook, * miss 2ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into next ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch, miss 2ch, 1dc into last ch. Turn. (23 Groups)
Pattern Row – 1ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into base of 1ch, * miss 1tr and 1htr, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr) into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last tr, htr and dc, miss 1tr and htr, 1dc into last dc. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Row in colour sequence as follows:-
10 More rows in colour 1. 1 Row in colour 2. 2 Rows in colour 1. 6 Rows in colour 2. 2 Rows in colour 1. 1 Row in colour 2. 12 Rows in colour 1. Turn.
You should have now worked 36 rows in all. Fasten off.
Edging – Join in colour 2, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each st to last dc, 3dc into last dc, work 1dc into each row end down first side of towel, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch along cast on edge to end, turn leaving last side un-worked.
Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 1dc into each dc across, 3dc into corner, * rpt * to * once, 1dc into each of remaining dc. Turn.
Strap – With colour 1 work 41dc evenly into row ends along un-worked side. Turn.
Decrease Row 1 – 1ch, dec 1dc (see abbrev) over first 2dc, * 1dc into next dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn. (27dc)
Decrease Row 2 – 1ch, dec 1dc over first 2dc, * dec 1dc over next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 1dc into dc. Turn. (14dc)

Rpt Decrease Row 1 once. (9dc)
