Coat – Worked in one piece starting with the yoke.

Using colour 1, make 55ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr in each ch to end. Turn. (52tr + 3ch)

2nd Row – (Inc Row) 3ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of the next 4tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr and 3tch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of last 2tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (62tr + 3ch)

3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr in each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Button/Buttonhole Bands

Button Band – With RS facing join colour 2 to left front at neck edge, make 1ch, work 42dc evenly along into row ends to corner. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch and turning at the end of each row, work 2 more rows in dc on these stitches. Fasten off.

Buttonhole Band – With RS facing join colour 1 to lower front edge on right hand side, make 1ch, work 42dc evenly into row ends to neck edge. Turn.

Next Row – (Buttonholes) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 8dc, * rpt from * to * once, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of remaining dc. Turn. (3 buttonholes made)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end. Fasten off.

Collar – (Inc Row) With WS facing and missing button/buttonhole bands, join colour 2 to first st on neck edge, working along cast on edge work 3ch, 1tr into each of next 3ch, * 2tr into next ch, 1tr into each of the next 4ch, * rpt from * to * to last 4tr, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of last 3tr. Turn. (62tr + 3ch)

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 2ch, miss 1tr, 1dc into next tr, * make 3ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3ch, make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn. (21 chain spaces)

Next Row – 3ch, 2tr into 2ch space, * fptr around dc, 3tr into next 3ch space, * rpt from * to * to dc,  2ch space and dc on end of row, work fptr around dc, 2tr into 2ch space, 1tr into dc. (21 groups of 3tr)

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 from coat working fpdtr around dtr’s not tr, until 3, 3tr group rows have been worked in all. Fasten off.

Chain Tie – With colour 2 make 150ch. Fasten off.

Finishing – Close small gap underarms, weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn, thread chain tie through row at the bottom of the yoke.

Bonnet – With colour 1 make 6ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, 3ch, work 16tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn. (16tr + 3ch)

2nd Round – (Inc) 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn. (33tr + 3ch)

3rd Round – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn.

4th Round – (Inc) 3ch, 2tr into next tr, * 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. Turn. (50 + 3ch)

5th Round – (Inc) 3ch, 1tr into next tr, 2tr into next tr, * 1tr into each of next 2tr, 2tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to first dc on beginning of round. Turn. (67tr + 3ch)

6th Round – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to last 4tr, turn leaving 4tr un-worked (63 + 3ch)

7th Round – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Rpt last round until 15 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Fasten off. Turn.

Brim – Working into BLO, Join colour 2 to first tr, make 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, * make 3ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3tch, make 2ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.

Next Row – 3ch, 2tr into 2ch space, * fptr around dc, 3tr into next 3ch space, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 2ch space and dc, work 2tr into 2ch space, 1tr into dc.

Work Pattern Rows 1 & 2 from coat twice more. Fasten off. Fold brim back onto RS of bonnet.

Neck Edge and Chain Ties – With colour 2 make 46ch. Fasten off. (We will come back to later)

With colour 2 make 47ch, work ss into second ch from hook, ss into each ch to end, With RS facing, work dc’s evenly along neck edge of bonnet catching in both sides of brim as you go, return to 46ch you made earlier and work ss into each ch to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn, make a bow with chain ties.

Booties x 2 – With colour 1 make 27ch, ss to first ch to make a ring, (RS) work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (27dc)

Work 1 row of 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn.

Eyelet Holes 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 2dc * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Work 1 row of 1dc into each dc and 2ch space to end, ss to first dc. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (27dc)

Instep – With WS facing, miss first 9dc, rejoin yarn to 10th dc with a ss, 1ch, 1dc into base of ch, 1dc into each of next 8dc. Turn leaving 9dc un-worked.

Work in dc on these 9st until 9 rows have worked in all for instep. Fasten off. Turn.

Sole – With WS facing join colour 1 to first stitch (where you casted off at ankle), make 1ch, 1dc into base of ch, 1dc into next 8dc along ankle, 9dc along first side of instep, 9dc along toe (top of instep), 9dc along second side of instep, 9dc along ankle, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (45dc)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1 more row of dc on these 45dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Dec Row 1 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, (see abbrev) 1dc into each of the next 17dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into next dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into next 17dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Work 1 row of 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (41dc)

Dec Row 2 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into each of the next 15dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into next dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into next 15dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc. Turn.

Work 1 row of 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (37dc)

Dec Row 3 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into each of the next 13dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into next dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into next 13dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc. Turn.

Work 1 row of 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (33dc)

Dec Row 4 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into each of the next 11dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into next dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into next 11dc, dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into last dc, ss to first dc. Fasten off leaving length of yarn. (29dc)

With WS facing whip stitch with a needle and left over yarn the open seam together on bottom of bootie. Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn, turn through to RS.

Top – With RS facing join colour 2 to first ch on starting chain edge, (by back seam). Make 3ch, 1tr into each of next 26ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (26tr + 3ch)

Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 3ch, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr, make 2ch, miss 2tr, ss to dc on beginning of row. Turn. (9 chain spaces)

Next Row – 3ch, 2tr into 2ch space, * fptr around dc, 3tr into next 3ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Fasten off. (9 groups of 3tr)

Chain Ties x 2 – With colour 2 make 50ch. Fasten off.

Using colour 2 make 8 small pom-pom’s. I used the Clover Pom-Pom maker size 25

Finishing – Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn. Thread a chain tie through eyelet holes on ankle of each bootie and tie in a bow.

Attach a pom-pom to each end of ties on bonnet, booties and coat.

6th Round – ch3, 1dc in each dc to last 4dc, turn leaving 4dc un-worked (63 + ch3)

7th Round – ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Rpt last round until 15 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Fasten off. Turn.

Brim – Working in BLO, Join color 2 to first dc, ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.

Next Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, ch2, skip 2dc, 1sc in next dc, * ch3, skip 2dc, 1sc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and 3tch, ch2, skip 2dc, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn.

Next Row – ch3, 2dc in ch2 space, * fpdc around sc, 3dc in next ch3 space, * rpt from * to * to last sc, ch2 space and sc, work 2dc in ch2 space, 1dc in sc.

Work Pattern Rows 1 & 2 from coat twice more. Fasten off. Fold brim back onto RS of bonnet.

Neck Edge and Chain Ties – With color 2 ch46. Fasten off. (We will come back to later)

With color 2 ch47, work sl st in second ch from hook, sl st in each ch to end, With RS facing, work sc’s evenly along neck edge of bonnet catching in both sides of brim as you go, return to 46ch you made earlier and work sl st in each ch to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn, make a bow with chain ties.

Booties x 2 – With color 1 ch27, sl st to first ch to make a ring, (RS) work ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each ch to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (27sc)

Work 1 row of 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Eyelet Holes ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of next 2sc * rpt from * to * to last 2sc, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Work 1 row of 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Fasten off. Turn. (27sc)

Instep – With WS facing, skip first 9sc, rejoin yarn to 10th sc with a sl st, ch1, 1sc in base of ch, 1sc in each of next 8sc. Turn leaving 9sc un-worked.

Work in sc on these 9st until 9 rows have worked in all for instep. Fasten off. Turn.

Sole – With WS facing join color 1 to first stitch (where you casted off at ankle), ch1, 1sc in base of ch, 1sc in next 8sc along ankle, 9sc along first side of instep, 9sc along toe (top of instep), 9sc along second side of instep, 9sc along ankle, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (45sc)

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1 more row of sc on these 45sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Dec Row 1 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, (see abbrev) 1sc in each of the next 17sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 17sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn.

Work 1 row of 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. (41sc)

Dec Row 2 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 15sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 15sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Work 1 row of 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. (37sc)

Dec Row 3 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 13sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 13sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Turn.

Work 1 row of 1sc in each sc to end, sl st to first sc. Turn. (33sc)

Dec Row 4 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in each of the next 11sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in next 11sc, dec 1sc over next 2sc, 1sc in last sc, sl st to first sc. Fasten off leaving length of yarn. (29sc)

With WS facing whip stitch with a needle and left over yarn the open seam together on bottom of bootie. Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn, turn through to RS.

Top – With RS facing join color 2 to first ch on starting chain edge, (by back seam). ch3, 1dc in each of next 26ch, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (26dc + ch3)

Next Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch3, skip 2dc, 1sc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, ch2, skip 2dc, sl st to sc on beginning of row. Turn. (9 chain spaces)

Next Row – ch3, 2dc in ch2 space, * fpdc around sc, 3dc in next ch3 space, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Fasten off. (9 groups of 3dc)

Chain Ties x 2 – With color 2 ch50. Fasten off.

Using color 2 make 8 small pom-pom’s. I used the Clover Pom-Pom maker size 25

Finishing – Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn. Thread a chain tie through eyelet holes on ankle of each bootie and tie in a bow.

Attach a pom-pom to each end of ties on bonnet, booties and coat.
