Worked in one piece, starting with yoke.

Using 4.00mm hook and colour 1 make 55ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into the next 6ch (Back), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into next 8ch (Shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 17ch (Front), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch. (Shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch (Back). Turn. (60tr + 3ch)

2nd Row – (Inc Row) Make 3ch, * 1tr into each tr to next 3tr group, 1tr into next tr, 3tr into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr group, 1tr into next tr, 3tr into centre tr of 3tr group, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (68tr + 3ch)

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 until 8 ps group rows have been worked in all from division making 15ps group rows in all from yoke, leg measures approx 7 inches and work measures 15 inches in all from shoulder. (you can adjust leg length here if you wish, by working more or less rows)

Leg Cuff – Using 3.50mm hook and RS facing, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, missing all 1ch spaces work 1dc into each st to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (40dc)

Decrease Row 1 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next dc, * dec 1dc (see abbrev) over next 2dc, 1dc into next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, dec 1dc over last 2dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn (30dc)

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Decrease Row 2 – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next 3dc, * dec 1dc over next 2dc, 1dc into each of the next 4dc, rpt from * to * to last 2dc, dec 1dc over last 2dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (25dc)

Second Leg – With 4.50mm hook join colour 1 to same st at division were you divided for legs, continue on remaining stitches in the same way as first leg working last tr into last dc. Fasten off.

Sleeves x 2 – With RS facing and 4.00mm hook join colour 1 to side of dc on base of sleeve where you divided for armhole, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 28dc, ss to first dc to make a round. Turn. (29dc)

Next Row – Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch * miss 1dc, 2ps into next dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc, miss 1dc, 2ps into next dc, miss 2dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (7, 2ps groups)

Next Row – 4ch, * (1dc, 2ch, 1dc) in between ps, of the 2ps group, 1ch, 1tr into dc, 1ch, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to 3rd of 4ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Rpt Pattern Row 2 working into tr’s not vst once.

Continue with Pattern Rows 1 & 2 same as for legs, turning at the end of each row and slip stitching to beginning of row, 5 more times, making 7ps group rows in all from yoke or until sleeve seam measures approx 4.5 inches. Turn. (again you can adjust sleeve length here if you wish, by working more or less rows)

Sleeve Cuff – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, missing all 1ch spaces work 1dc into each st to end. Turn. Work 3 more rows in dc, turning and ss at the end of each row. (28dc)

Working into BLO, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end, ss to first dc. Turn.

Working through both loops rpt last row once. Fasten off.

With RS facing join in colour 2 and work one row of crab stitch. Fasten off.

Button/Buttonhole Edge – With WS facing, 4.00mm hook and colour 1, work 38dc evenly into row ends up left hand side of back edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each ch around neck edge, 3dc into corner, work 38dc evenly into row ends down right hand side to end. Turn.

Buttonhole Row – The instructions have been written for a boy, change sides for a girl.

Work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to neck edge, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc around neck, 1dc into corner, * 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 6dc, * rpt from * to * 4 more times, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of remaining dc. Turn. Fasten off. (6 buttonholes made)

Using colour 2 work one row of crab stitch up first back edge, around neck and down second back edge working 2st in corners and 1st in each of the 2ch spaces. Fasten off.

Chain Ties x 2 – With 4.00mm hook and contrast colour yarn make 100ch, ss into 2nd ch from hook, ss into each ch to end. Fasten off.

Using colour 2 make 2 pom-poms (I used Clover pom-pom maker size 20)

Finishing With 4.00mm hook and colour 2 work one row of crab stitch into loose loops on ankles, cuffs and both rows on yoke.

Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, close small gaps underarms, sew bottom of button bands to top of legs.

Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach one end of each chain tie to WS of button/buttonhole bands on last row of tr’s on yoke, thread the ties through alternate tr’s round to the front and tie in a bow at centre, sew a pom-pom to each end of the chain ties.

Bobble Hat – With 4.00mm hook and colour 2 make 6ch, join with ss to form a ring, 3ch, 15tr into ring, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.

Round 2 – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (31tr + 3ch)

Round 3 – 3ch, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr, 2tr into last tr, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (47tr + 3ch)

Brim – Using 3.50mm hook and working into FLO, make 1ch, work 1dc into base of 1ch, make 1ch, * miss 1dc, 3ps into next dc, 1ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next dc, 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 4tr, miss 1dc, 3ps into next dc, 1ch, miss 2tr, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (17, 3ps groups)

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 same as legs on rompers 2 more times, making 3ps group rows in all. Fasten off.

Turn the brim back onto the RS of hat.

Using 4.00mm hook join in colour 1 and work one row of crab stitch into loose loops around base of brim. Fasten off. Make pompom in colour 1 (I used Clover pom-pom maker size 45)

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach pom-pom to crown.

Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, close small gaps underarms, sew bottom of button bands to top of legs.

Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach one end of each chain tie to WS of button/buttonhole bands on last row of dc’s on yoke, thread the ties through alternate dc’s round to the front and tie in a bow at centre, sew a pom-pom to each end of the chain ties.

Bobble Hat – With 4.00mm hook and color 2 ch6, join with sl st to form a ring, ch3, 15dc in ring, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.

Round 2 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (31dc + ch3)

Round 3 – ch3, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 2dc in last dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (47dc + ch3)

Round 4 – ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 2dc in last dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (63dc + ch3)

Round 5 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in next 12dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 11dc, 1dc in each of last 11dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (68dc + ch3)

Round 6-13 – ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.

Round 14 – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (69sc)

Brim – Using 3.50mm hook and working in FLO, ch1, work 1sc in base of ch1, ch1, * skip 1sc, 3ps in next sc, ch1, skip 1sc, 1sc in next sc, ch1, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc, skip 1sc, 3ps in next sc, ch1, skip 2dc, sl st to first sc on beginning of row. Turn. (17, 3ps groups)

Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 same as legs on rompers 2 more times, making 3ps group rows in all. Fasten off.

Turn the brim back onto the RS of hat.

Using 4.00mm hook join in color 1 and work one row of crab stitch in loose loops around base of brim. Fasten off. Make pompom in color 1 (I used Clover pom-pom maker size 45)

Finishing – Weave in and trim off all loose ends of yarn, attach pom-pom to crown.
