RS. Right Side
ch. Chain
dc. Double Crochet
tr. Treble Crochet
rpt. Repeat
tch. Turning Chain
vst. (1tr, 1ch, 1tr) into same space or stitch.
Shell Group. (2tr, 1ch, 2tr) into same space or stitch.
Base of ch. Work into first stitch
3ch counts as first tr
Approx Size to Fit: 20 inch chest, 6-12 month baby
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
20 grams of Stylecraft Special DK yarn
TENSION – 5tr & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

Make 63ch, (RS) 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into each ch to end. (60tr + 3ch)
2nd Row – 3ch, * miss 1tr, vst into next tr, (see abbrev), miss 1tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr and 3tch, miss 1tr, work 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (15 vst)
3rd Row – 3ch, * work shell group (see abbrev) into 1ch space of next vst, 1tr into tr, rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (15 Shell Groups)
4th Row – 3ch, * work 1 shell into 1ch space of next shell, 1tr into tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
5th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * (3tr, 2ch, 3tr) into 1ch space of shell, 1dc into tr, * rpt from * to * to end, working last dc into top of 3ch.
Fasten off.
Chain Tie – Make 75ch. Fasten off.
Make 2 small pom-pom’s. I used Clover Pom-Pom maker size 25
Finishing – Weave in loose ends of yarn and trim. Thread chain tie through first tr on each side of neck edge and tie in a bow, attach a Pom-Pom to each end of tie.
Optional – (instead of chain tie) Sew a button to one side of the neck edge and fasten through space of the first tr on the opposite side.
