Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
70 grams of King Cole Cottonsoft DK
TENSION – 4dc & 4 rows measures approx 1 inch

Make 15ch loosely, 2dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each of next 12ch, 3dc into last ch, working on opposite side of starting ch, work 1dc into each ch to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (30dc)
2nd Row – 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each of next 14dc, 2dc into next dc, 1dc into each of next 15dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (32dc)
3rd Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 3ch, miss 3dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, miss 3dc, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
4th Row – 3ch, (RS) 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into 3ch space, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * last 3ch space, work 1dc into 3ch space, 1tr into base of 3ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (8 groups)
5th Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 3ch, miss (1tr, 1dc, 1tr) work 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last (tr, dc, tr) make 3ch, miss (tr, dc, tr) ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.
6th Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into 3ch space, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * last 3ch space, work 1dc into 3ch space, 1tr into base of 3ch, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt 5th and 6th Rows five more times or until work measures approx 5 inches from beginning.
Fasten off. Weave in any loose ends and trim off.
Chain Loop – Make 61ch (leave a tail of loose yarn), keeping chain loop flat, using the loose yarn thread the chain through the last row of spaces, ss to first ch to make a round. DNT.
Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each to end, ss to first dc on beginning of row.
Fasten off. Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim off.
Pull back the slip join part of the chain to the inside of the soap holder, (to hide it) pull chain loop to gather top and use to hang up with.
Washcloth – Make 50ch, work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, * make 3ch, miss 3ch, 1dc into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.
2nd Row – 3ch, (RS) 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into 3ch space, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work 2tr into last dc. Turn. (11 groups)
3rd Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 3ch, miss (1tr, 1dc, 1tr), work 1dc into centre tr of 3tr group, * rpt from * to * to last (tr, dc, tr and 3tch), make 3ch, miss (tr, dc, tr) work 1dc into top 3tch. Turn.
4th Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into 3ch space, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work 2tr into last dc. Turn.
Rpt 3rd and 4th Rows thirteen more times or until cloth measures approx 10 inches from beginning.
Fasten off.
With RS facing join yarn to starting chain edge, make 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * 1dc into 3ch space, 3tr into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, work 2tr into last dc.
Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim off.
