Base of ch. Work into first stitch
Size to Fit Adult
Fingerless gloves: approx 7.5 inch diameter x 7 inch length
Cowl: approx 23 Inches long x 4.5 inches wide
Hat: approx 7.5 inches from crown to bottom of brim
Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn, I have used approximately:-
135 grams of King Cole Drifter DK yarn
TENSION – 2 groups & 2 rows measures approx 1 inch

Fingerless Gloves – Make two.
Cuff – Make 5ch, 1dc into 2nd ch from hook 1dc into each of next 3ch. Turn. (4dc)
Row 2 – Working into BLO (see abbrev) work 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.
Rpt Row 2 until you have worked 31 rows in all. DNT.
Body – 1ch, work 1dc into each row end along side of cuff to end. Turn. (31dc)
Second Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, * miss 2dc, (2tr, 2ch, 1dc) into next dc, * rpt from * to * last 3dc, miss 2dc, 2tr into last dc. Turn. (9 groups + 2 halves)
Third Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, (2tr, 2ch, 1dc) into next 2ch space, * miss 2tr and dc, work (2tr, 2ch, 1dc) into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, miss 3tr, 2tr into top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt Third Row until 14 Rows have been worked in all from cuff. Fasten off.
Finishing – Fold your work in half and sew the long edge together leaving room for your thumb (see pic)
Cowl
For a longer and wider cowl add multiples of 3 chains to the starting chain and work extra Pattern Rows for width.
Make 171ch loosely, ss to first ch to form a ring, make 3ch, (RS) work (1tr, 2ch, 1dc) into base of 3ch, * miss 2ch, (2tr, 2ch, 1dc) into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (57 groups)
Pattern Row – ss to first 2ch space, make 3ch, work (1tr, 2ch, 1dc) into same 2ch space, * miss 2tr and dc, work (2tr, 2ch, 1dc) into next 2ch space, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt Pattern Row until nine rows have been worked in all (or the width you require). Fasten off.
Return and rejoin yarn to WS on starting ch, make 3ch, work (1tr, 2ch, 1dc) into base of 3ch, * miss 2ch, (2tr, 2ch, 1dc) into next ch, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (57 groups)
Rpt Pattern Row once. Fasten off.
Beanie Hat
Made in continuous rounds without turning to the end of the 5th Row
Make magic circle, (RS) work 3ch, 15tr into circle, pull loose yarn to close, join with ss to top of 3ch on beginning of round. (15tr + 3ch)
2nd Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 2tr into each tr to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (31tr + 3ch)
3rd Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into next tr, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (47tr + 3ch)
4th Row – 3ch, 1tr into base of 3ch, 1tr into each of next 2tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2tr * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. (63tr + 3ch)
